Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division is excited to launch a new Spay/Neuter (sterilization) initiative called BrowardPetFix. Broward County residents who own a dog or cat, or those who help community cats, now have 2 sterilization options available= (1) SNIP Program_ (2) Community Cats Management Program that will provide affordable and convenient sterilization services!

Broward PetFix's SNIP (a voucher-based) program, which provides free or low-cost sterilization services for OWNED dogs and cats.

SNIP Program Details

  • Some pets may have a co-pay amount.  The amount of the co-pay is determined upon completion of the online SNIP Application.

  • Electronic vouchers are issued for use at a SNIP Provider Clinic.

  • Any required co-payment must be paid to the SNIP Provider at the time of surgery.

  • The voucher must be used within 60 days from the date of issue.

  • The number of free and reduced-cost SNIP sterilizations is limited to available funding.

NOTE: Eligibility for participation in the SNIP (County) Program is determined by income and residency. Participants must be able to provide proof of residency (pet license receipt, utility bill ei phone, electric, water, tax bill or driver's license) and proof of income (copy of payrolls stubs or checks covering one month, social security benefits letter or tax return ei.1040 IRS Form).  There might be additional charges for non-routine surgery. This includes, but is not limited to a pregnant animal, animal "in heat", animals with infections, undescendednt testicles, false pregnancies, obesity and females that have had previous litters. Call veterinarian's office PRIOR to surgery and confirm rates.
